mROOTS (Maharani Research Optimization and Outreach towards Scientific-temper) is a flagship initiative at mLAC to encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students to undertake original research projects.

Guidelines & Submission Process

  1. Eligibility & Team Structure
  • Eligible Students: All students currently enrolled in mLAC UG/PG courses (e.g., B.A., B.Com, BBA, B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Com, Languages, and M.A.) are eligible to apply.
  • Team Size: A project team must consist of a maximum of 4 students.
  • Submission Limit: Each team may submit only one proposal, which must align with the indicated themes. Any proposals falling outside these themes will not be considered and are liable for rejection.
  1. Proposal Preparation
  • Format: Proposals must be prepared strictly according to the official "m-ROOTS" proposal format available on the mLAC website.
  • Novelty Check: Team members are strongly advised to conduct a literature review and prior art search before submission to ensure the originality and novelty of their project.
  • Required Approvals: The finalized proposal must be approved by the Project Guide, Head of the Department, and the College/Institution prior to submission.
  1. Processing Fees & Payment
  • Fee Structure: ₹200/- per student (e.g., a full group of 4 students requires a total payment of ₹800/-).
  • Payment Method: Payments must be made directly to UCO BANK via NEFT transfer or UPI only. (Bank account details are provided in the "m-ROOTS" proposal format).
  • Policy: All processing fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
  1. Submission Process
  • Mandatory Online Submission: Submission through the designated Google Form is strictly mandatory. Proposals not submitted via the Google Form will not be evaluated.
  • No Hardcopies: Students and institutions must not send physical hardcopies of the proposals to "m-ROOTS".
  • Application Steps: The team leader is mandatorily required to fill out the Google Form. Before starting the form, the team must ensure they have the approved softcopy of the proposal and the payment transaction details ready to upload.

Important Post-Sanction Requirement

  • Compulsory Publication: Publication of the research is mandatory for all sanctioned projects.
