Code of Ethics & Ethics Committee

Official institutional guidelines governing academic integrity, plagiarism prevention, and ethical research practices.

The Bedrock of Academic Integrity

At mLAC (Autonomous), we firmly believe that groundbreaking research must be built upon an unwavering foundation of honesty and ethical conduct. We mandate that all research supervisors, academic guides, and scholars maintain the absolute highest levels of academic integrity at all times.

Every appraisal of research work—including theses, dissertations, high-impact publications, and book chapters—must strictly follow the guidelines stipulated by the College and the University Grants Commission (UGC). Furthermore, our institution is deeply committed to abiding by all provisions set forth in the UGC Policy on Academic Integrity and Plagiarism Prevention in Higher Educational Institutional Regulations, 2018.

Ethical Guidelines & The IAEC

Responsible scientific inquiry is the cornerstone of our research philosophy. To ensure the humane, ethical, and highly regulated conduct of research involving animal subjects, the college has established a dedicated Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC).

  • Mandatory Review: All research proposals involving animal subjects must be rigorously reviewed and formally approved by the IAEC before any research activities can commence.
  • We place a paramount focus on mentoring our scholars to adhere to the strict ethical principles defined by both the institution and the UGC.

Plagiarism Prevention & IPR Awareness

Originality in research is non-negotiable. To safeguard our intellectual output, a comprehensive plagiarism check is mandatory for all research activities, including publication submissions, dissertations, and project proposals.

To support our academic community in this mandate:

  • Detection Tools: Advanced plagiarism detection software is made readily accessible to all faculty and authorized scholars through the college library.
  • Continuous Education: We maintain strict faculty awareness regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patents, and research ethics through regularly scheduled workshops, invited expert talks, and specialized departmental seminars.
