Youth Red Cross

Compassion in action. Discover how the mLAC Youth Red Cross empowers students to champion human health, emergency relief, and community welfare.

A Global Legacy of Humanitarian Service

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is a premier voluntary humanitarian organization dedicated to protecting human life and health across the nation. As a proud extension of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the Youth Red Cross (YRC) at Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women (mLAC) operates strictly on the fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, and voluntary service.

Established on our campus in 2014, the mLAC Youth Red Cross has grown into a powerful force for good, currently boasting a robust network of over 150 active student volunteers. Our primary objective is to instill a profound sense of social responsibility, strict discipline, and deep empathy within our students. We strive to help young women understand their crucial role in supporting their fellow citizens, especially the poor, the downtrodden, and those affected by unforeseen crises.

Our Community Initiatives

The mLAC Youth Red Cross operates year-round, actively organizing high-impact camps and awareness drives both on campus and in the surrounding Bengaluru community.

  • 🩸 Health & Medical Relief: We regularly organize and execute large-scale Blood Donation Camps, general Medical Check-up Camps, and specialized Eye Screening Camps to provide essential healthcare access to those in need.
  • 🚨 Emergency Preparedness: True empowerment comes from knowing how to save a life. Our volunteers undergo rigorous, certified training in First Aid and comprehensive Disaster Management protocols.
  • 🛡️ Public Safety & Awareness: We take our message to the streets, conducting high-visibility Road Safety Awareness Campaigns to educate the public and reduce preventable accidents.

🤝 Become a Volunteer Humanity needs your voice and your energy.
