Kaluvehalli, April 21, 2026 — The National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp was formally inaugurated on April 21, 2026, at Kaluvehalli village in Challakere Taluk, Chitradurga District. The camp aims to promote community engagement, social responsibility, and rural development among students.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Nanda Kulkarni, Principal of Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women, who emphasized the importance of NSS activities in shaping socially responsible citizens. She encouraged students to actively participate in community service and make meaningful contributions to society.
Ms. Aruna HK, IQAC Coordinator, addressed the gathering and highlighted the role of quality initiatives in extending education beyond classrooms through outreach programs like NSS camps. She appreciated the efforts of the organizing team in planning the camp.
Ms. Sarswathi Naik, NSS Program Officer, outlined the objectives and schedule of the camp, which include activities such as village cleanliness drives, awareness programs on health and hygiene, environmental conservation initiatives, and community interaction.
Faculty members from Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women were also present at the event, supporting and motivating the NSS volunteers. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who pledged to work towards the betterment of the local community during the camp duration.
