Our Admission Policy
At Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women (mLAC), we are deeply committed to an admission process that is transparent, equitable, and strictly merit-based. We actively foster a diverse and inclusive campus environment by ensuring special consideration for students from varied backgrounds, in strict accordance with the rules of reservation laid down by the Government of Karnataka.
- Merit-Based Allotment: Outside of the designated special categories, all college seats are allotted purely on the basis of academic merit.
- Inclusivity & Equity: We provide special admission consideration to differently-abled students, economically backward applicants, and candidates from backward communities.
- SC/ST & Reserved Categories: Seats are allocated per government norms upon the production of valid caste and income certificates. Furthermore, the college administration actively assists SC/ST category candidates in applying for fee reimbursements from the concerned Welfare Boards.
- Exceptional Achievers: Special consideration is granted to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in Sports, Cultural activities, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and similar recognized forums.
Admission Procedure
Step 1: Obtain the Application
Application forms and detailed information brochures can be obtained directly from the college administration office upon payment of a nominal fee.
Step 2: Submit the Form
Fully completed application forms, along with the required documentation, must be submitted to the college office on or before the officially notified deadline.
Step 3: Merit List Declaration
Following the review of all applications, the official merit list of selected candidates will be published on the College Notice Board.
Step 4: Admission Confirmation
Candidates who are provisionally selected for admission must appear in person before the Admission Committee, accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, to finalize their enrollment.
Important Admission Guidelines:
Language Selection: Students must opt for the language (Second Language) that they studied and passed in their last qualifying examination.
Fee Policy: Please note that institutional fees, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Admission Checklist
Documents (Scan Copies) to be kept ready while applying:
- Duly filled in application with a passport size photograph pasted to it.
- Three passport size photographs
- Attested copy of the SSLC/10th marks card
- Attested copy of the qualifying exam (II PUC/12th Grade)
- SC/ST students – Attested copy of the Caste Certificate issued by the Authorised Officer, with a validity of 5 years.
- Category IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB – Attested copy of the Caste and Income Certificates issued by the Revenue Officer in the format prescribed by the Govt.
- Attested copy of the Migration certificate for students from outside Karnataka.

- Differentially Abled Candidate should enclose a copy of disability or handicap certificates issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
